I got a newsletter from the Mic 92.1 stating that Lee Rayburn, our morning host would be pinch hitting due to Air America letting go Mark Riley. So, I found this blog and thought I would share.

Air Americans Cancelled

Oh, jeezus, the talent hemmorhage continues. Next thing Randi will jump to NovaM and that will be that for the original AAR.
I would imagine that, in the case of Air Americans, low clearings did in another show. It's a tough slot , especially on the west coast where it competes with sports and afternoon drive.
Bree Walker is a real discovery for KTLK. I'll miss her weekend show. KTLK coming off the Marc Germain coup has been signing pre-sold local talent all over the place. Bree had some name recognition going in, since she'd fronted the corporate nooz machine as a local TV anchor for so long. She explains that by saying the BS finally became too much for her. We knew she was a battler, having made it to the top of local news in the two biggest markets as a physically challenged woman, but I was amazed to find out she was a real activist. I think she's the one who got Cindy Sheehan active again. They seem pretty tight. (Buying Camp Casey didn't hurt either.)
It'll be interesting to see if she can carry a national show. There might be the same clearing issues beyond her control.

It was a set up, doomed from the beginning. Marc Riley was so good with Marc Maron. Gee I wish NovaM could reprise their match-up. Glad to hear Lionel is doing about as well as he deserves.
P.S. So help me, I hope they don't play Sting's song over and over and over on Greene's show much longer. Once a show is plenty. It's way over played and distracts from his show.

I'm not surprised about this at all. It sounded to me like The Air Americans was simply a 4-hour filler show, which only got carried by the turnkey stations (the ones that play the entire AAR lineup without customization), and a few others.
Their blog hardly got any traffic, and most of their listeners (as well as several of the progressive talk affiliates) ended switching over to NovaM's Mike Malloy.

I don't know if Nova M could afford it but they could blow the Turk's off the air with a new Sedition. Reuniting Maron, Riley and Earl - what a radio wet dream, this could be a movement.

Sorry to hear it was cancelled we never heard a single episode of the show on WWRL hopefully they'll come up with some better shows to fill the 8PM-12AM slot so we can hear it here on WWRL and the board can drop those dreadful repeats of Williams/Greenfield.
